Heart of Christmas Advent Devotional Day 2

NOTE: These devotional will mainly be verses and questions. My goal is to ensure that my
children understand the meaning of the verse and it how it relates to the true celebration of Christmas. I will listen to their response and lead our discussion based on their thoughts, so in reality the questions may change. I will base my responses on their level of understanding of the verse we are discussing. We will then hang the ornament depicted each day on our special little tree.

Anthony wrote this poem at AWANA this week. I think it goes perfectly with today's

God gave us his love while we were looking above. For he gave us Jesus,  to die and rose alive.

And oh, we trust Jesus, So we're truly alive. And now we're waiting, For the Lord Jesus is coming.

Three years ago this boy was waiting in China. No more waiting. He is home both physically and spiritually.

Day 2 – Why did Jesus come to earth?

Today we look at our blessed Savior and why He came to earth.

Today's Verse:

“For the son of man came to seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)

Who is the son of man?

Who are the lost?

Why is Jesus seeking the lost?

What is He saving them from?

So Jesus was born as a baby, God in flesh, without sin, in order to one day save us through His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave!

Awesome, right?!

Memory Verse

Let's practice our verses again!

Eva  – “’Glory to God in the Highest!’” (Luke 2:14a)

Grace/Anthony – “And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.” (Luke 2:1)

Blessings this Christmas Season,
