NOTE: These devotional will mainly be verses and questions. My goal is to ensure that my children understand the meaning of the verse and it how it relates to the true celebration of Christmas. I will listen to their response and lead our discussion based on their thoughts, so in reality the questions may change. I will base my responses on their level of understanding of the verse we are discussing. We will then hang the ornament depicted each day on our special little tree.

Day 4 – Where was Jesus born?
"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small
among the clans of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times."
(Micah 5:2, NIV)
Who is this verse talking about? Who is the the one who will be ruler over Israel?
We learn in this verse that Jesus will be born in Bethlehem. When we look at the passage we are memorizing in Luke 2, where does it say Joseph and Mary went right before when Mary gave birth to Jesus?
"And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)" (Luke 2:4, KJV)
So, the Old Testament foretold or prophesied that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem and Jesus was born in Bethlehem!
Let's practice our verses again!
Grace – “’Glory to God in the Highest, peace on earth, good will to men!’” (Luke 2:14)
Anthony – “And suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host, praising God and saying "Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth, good will to men.” (Luke
