Spiritually and Physically Fit Friday Check in!
Most of us have just started the challenge and are having a great dialog on Facebook, but I will check in every Friday on my blog and share what I am learning or where I am struggling.
What has struck you about James 1?
I have always loved the book of James for its practical application.
I always turn to the following passage when I am in the midst of the trial. I love that faith produces perseverance!
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:2-5, NIV)
Another favorite of mine and life verse is James 1:27, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
With my heart for adoption, this verse really resonates with me and spurs me on to continue to advocate for orphans!
How were my meals this week?
I have been following the 21 Day Sugar Detox and it is going well. There have been a few times that I have wanted to eat some sugar filled and it took a lot of will power to not eat it but I did it!
I have worked out three different days thus far. Strength training with weights and Pilates this week with more to come!
How did you do this week? Let us know on Facebook or in the comments here.
