Saying Goodbye . . .
Friday Anthony says goodbye forever to a piece of himself.
A flawed piece.
A deformed piece.
But of a piece of himself nonetheless.
It is difficult to let go of the past and move forward.
You feel as if you are losing yourself.
Something infinitely superior?
Anthony is getting a new thumb. The doctors will be forming it from his index finger. It will give him mobility and the ability to grasp.
He is receiving a new functioning finger.
How amazing are the marvels of science and our finite minds.
But what of God?
His thoughts are unknowable and his ways beyond our understanding.
His thoughts crush my thoughts, blowing them out of the water.
So if this is true, why do we cling so to our past life, when we know that God's plan will be infinitely greater than ours?
Sometimes, like Anthony, we want to hold on to memories that we think make us who we are.
So, what if instead we just let go and let God work.
He has a plan infinitely superior!
He take the old, deformed and flawed parts of us and makes us new!
We are a new creature, spending life eternal with the One who far surpasses our greatest imaginings.
When we let God do His work in us, we become the creatures He always wanted us to be, functioning fully according to His will and for His glory.
I love when God gives a pictures of His work through our everyday lives!
