Over the past week, I've been thinking about how we can see the hand of God in our lives, working to create the beautiful tapestry that is our life. Most of the time it feels as if all we see is the messy side, that mass of threads sewn together in an array of colors that seem to have no shape, purpose or reason behind them, but sometimes He gives a brief moment of clarity where we glimpse what He sees. When we see the tapestry from God's perspective, we see the beautiful work of art that we truly are, created to bring glory to His name.
So, for now, while we are down among the grit and grime of our daily lives, let's remember to hold on to those glimpses from God's eternal perspective, knowing that He is working to accomplish His will and plan for our lives. Let's remember that our lives are the evidence of His work here on earth and the testimony of who He is and what He has done for us through the sacrifice of His one and only son, Jesus Christ.
"Yet you, Lord, are our Father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand." (Is. 64:8)
I see the fingerprints of God in my life through . . .
the hazel eyes and smile of my husband every morning and evening.
the wide-mouth grins and sparkling eyes of my precious children.
the joyful laughter of friends playing together.
the word, hugs, and prayers of friends and family, both near and far.
the daily provision of all that we need from our Heavenly Father.
every step, turn, and unexpected moment of our adoption process.
my journey to good health.
my struggles with infertility.
the loss of my best friend and father.
As I was writing this post, the following song kept playing in my head. I haven't thought about this song in years, so I figured it would be fun to take a little journey back to 1988! Enjoy!! :)
