Looking back . . . 8 years ago

I had to dig deep for this one . . . Kay Arthur's Women's Convention, August 2005
Reminiscing with dear friends is such fun. Just today my college roomie and bestie, Kristin, and I were remembering a fun trip we took together to a Kay Arthur Conference in Chattanooga. We both flew into Atlanta, rented a car and drove to Chattanooga because it ended up being a better deal. This provided us with amble talk time as well and was, of course, the perfect mix for lots of adventures. Among our crazy memories, which involve a scary motel and movie theater, Kristin reminded me that it was on that trip that I first told her that Adam and I were going to start trying to get pregnant. As we discussed and realized that it was about 8 years ago, it struck us how amazing God is that at that point in our lives when we were ready for children, thousands of miles away in the country of China our boy was being born. AMAZING.

"'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My says,' declares the Lord. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.'" (Isaiah 55:8-9, NIV)

We have our ups and downs each day, primarily related to the language barrier. Moments of pure happiness and joy and moments of frustration and disappoint come and go in waves, but God knows exactly what we can handle and He knows exactly what we need to be reminded of His work in our lives. Thank you, God, for a great day today and for revealing a little piece of the beautiful tapestry you are weaving with our lives.

We can't have a blog post without some fun pictures!
