So today was one of THOSE days. It started out normal. I had a good workout (will definitely be sore tomorrow) and had fun teaching my Pilates class, but then things started to spiral out of my control! :) We were trying to get ready to head out of town for Adam's brother's wedding, and I had to get an oil change, state inspection, and brake lights fixed, so we were in a hurry plus I hadn't finished packing! So first, Grace's shoes went missing, then my keys disappeared, then Anthony and I had a miscommunication and now I am writing this post in an email on my phone because the auto shop doesn't have wifi. But in the midst of this perfect storm, I can sit here for a moment and be still and know that He is God and be reminded that nothing is ever out of His control. Praise God!
So what is the theme of today's Friday Adoption Adventure? Patience! It seems that at every turn for the past few days, God has been gently been whispering in my ear, "Patience, beloved. I am walking with you."
I need godly patience multiple times a day as we muddle through this life and particularly right now, the language barrier. Everything stems from that at this point. Thanks to our adoption of Anthony, I realize how impatient I have become and our lifestyle here in America certainly doesn't help. We get impatient when our computer is too slow, when we encounter traffic or have to wait in a line at the grocery store. I need to stop and savor the moments God gives us. I already missed out on so much of our babies precious lives that I need to stop and exhibit patience and calm and just focus on my kids. Also, how can I ask for patience from my children when I myself am not being patience?
Blog Highlight of the Week
Today I would like to highlight my friend Erin Martin's blog, God Has Answered. She is a constant source of encouragement to me daily. She is the leader of a Facebook group I am part of through (in)courage womens group. You should check it out! It is an amazing way to meet godly women all over the U.S. and uplift and encourage one another. There are numerous Facebook groups based on different issues women are facing.
