Merry Christmas! I apologize for my absence for a number of days, but as you can imagine, we have been having lots of Christmas fun with family! I will do a post soon about our last Christmas as a family of four. While I missed not having Anthony with us, we had a very blessed and joyous time with our loved ones!
Before I launch into all the exciting things that have been happening with our adoption, let me take a moment to announce the winner of my last giveaway!
The winner of her very own copy of One Wintry Night is Jacqi Raymond!! Congrats!
Anyone interested in an adoption update?
Well, on December 21, 2012, we received our Travel Authorization (TA)! So the next step was to request a Consulate Appointment (CA), which we did, and we got the date we requested which is Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 10 AM! In case you are wondering, what all these things mean, let me take a moment to explain. TA allows us to enter China and adopt a child, while the CA is the appointment at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou where, after we have gone through the process of actually adopting him in Shanghai, where we receive documentation for him to enter the U.S. as our child and upon entry, he immediately becomes a U.S. Citizen! Exciting stuff! It is fun as well that we will be traveling with several friends I have made through adoption groups on facebook!
We officially booked our flights today!! We will be traveling to China on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 6:40 AM with one layover in San Francisco and arriving in Shanghai on Saturday, January 12 at 6:45 PM. We fly out of Hong Kong on our return on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 12:30 pm, going again through San Francisco and arriving home in San Antonio at 7:11 pm!
We will appreciate your prayer over the next two weeks as we prepare for our big trip to get our little boy!
Love and blessings to all this holiday season!!!
