Sharing Christ with Anthony and the Heavens Bible GIVEAWAY

I have always been a dreamer. I like to imagine scenarios in my head of how events will play out knowing full well they are just dreams. It’s just how my brain works. I imagine everything from the best to worst. So, as you must have guessed, I have been thinking about Anthony and how things will play out with him. I have read numerous books and blogs laying out the journeys of others through older child adoption, and I have plethora of information floating around in my head. It is very comforting, encouraging and sometimes scary to read the stories of those who have walked the path before us, but I have to prepare myself for the fact that our journey, while having some similarities, will also be unique to our family.

One of the things I think most about in regard to bringing Anthony home surrounds sharing our faith with him.  Our faith is who we are and how we live our lives so I know that is a big element of how He will learn about Christ, but I also want to start developing a connection with him through prayer and the reading of God's word. We won't know until we get him what he has been taught up to that point about Christ but we are praying for an open heart and ask you to join us. For those of you who have walked this path before us, please leave comments with any ideas regarding things that have worked well for you and your family.

Another book Tommy Nelson gave us to review this month is the Heavens Bible. I was excited to get my copy of this book because my mind immediately went to Anthony and saw this as his first Bible. It has these amazing photos dispersed throughout the text of various Hubble Space Telescope images of outer space. I love it and love that it uses pictures of the great immense expanse of the heavens to point to God demonstrating His Awesome majesty and power. I think this will be a great tool for us as we start to introduce the scriptures to Anthony.

"The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
    night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them." (Ps. 19:1-3)
