Today has been bittersweet. While it has been wonderful thinking of him and praying for him, there is sadness that fills my heart as we have yet to meet him. But along with that sadness is an unspeakable joy because I know that God is ever faithful and that we will hold him not just in our hearts, but in our arms very soon!
To our sweet boy,
Happy birthday, Jianyou! God brought you into our hearts and lives and we can't wait for you join our family. We pray for you daily and are excited to teach you about God and introduce you to your family and friends.
Our prayer for you right now is for your heart to be open to joining our family and to the One who loves you more than you could ever fathom and sent His only Son to die for you so that you might be adopted as His son and made a co-heir with Christ. His sacrifice makes it possible for you to have a relationship with Him and that is what we desire for you most. God has an amazing plan for you and we are anxious to watch it unfold in your life!
Your loving forever family,
Suzanne, Adam and Grace
On September 23, 2004, He Jianyou was born but it wasn’t until October 30, 2004 that he was found outside of the Shanghai City Children’s Welfare Institute. He was left with a birth paper note stating his birth date and his given name, which I find precious. I think this demonstrates the love someone has for him, but for reasons unknown to us, had to give him up. He was diagnosed as having normal mental development but a deformity of his right wrist and right thumb. After a year of living in the children’s home, it was determined that he needed to be placed with a foster family which occurred on December 19, 2005. Upon placement in the foster home, his development grew in leaps and bounds. We are so thankful for the loving care and encouragement of his sweet foster “grandparents” as he calls them.
