Paperwork Chase and Timeline Update

Many of you have asked me about the process and timeline remaining before we travel to China again. Let me give you a quick update! This may be a little tedious so bare with me.

Our dossier was FedExed today to our adoption agency and will be submitted this week!

Now we wait for our Log In Date (LID) and then for CCCWA (China Center of Adoption Affairs) to translate and review our dossier. After the dossier has been reviewed by CCCWA, they will issue the Letter Seeking Confirmation (LSC - official referral paperwork). The process from LID to LSC takes aproximately 2-3 months. During this time, we will prepare the I-800 paperwork so we can send it straight to USCIS (Immigration Services) as soon as we receive the LSC from China. There are a few steps involved at the point, mostly behind the scenes (after I-800 approval, the National Visa Center (NVC) will issue a letter, and then the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou process the Article 5 letter and send it to CCCWA). Once they receive that, China will issue about 2-3 weeks later our Travel Authorization (TA). After we get the TA, we plan our trip to China!

So to boil this down for you, they estimate that it takes about 5-6 months from the LID to the TA.

Our BIG request right now is for prayer that this process will go smoothly, efficiently, and quickly! Please also continue to pray for You You and us as we prepare to become a family!

Here are a couple of photos to brighten your day! :)
